The Nikkei and Financial Times partnership sits at the heart of our sponsorship of the UK Ekiden, bringing together Japanese and British cultures in a way that reflects the spirit of the race itself.
The Ekiden first came to our attention in 2024, when FT journalist Leo Lewis wrote his piece, “How to fail with grace, the ekiden way.” Through Leo, we were introduced to Anna Dingley, whose vision was to bring the ethos and camaraderie of the Ekiden to the UK. Since the inaugural race in 2024, Nikkei and Financial Times have been proud headline sponsors of the UK Ekiden.
This year, the Nikkei FT Ekiden Rest & Reset Tent offers a chance for participants and spectators to relax and explore the best of our journalism. FT Professional ambassadors will be on site throughout the day, helping students access subscriptions and discover early-career content.
You’re also invited to try your hand at our interactive experiences and games. Do you have what it takes to run a Premier League football club? Or mastermind a US presidential campaign? Join us and put your instincts to the test.
