Yes this app is completely free to download.

After installing the app for the first time, you’ll be prompted to allow the app to access your personal data (Teams user and tenant id) to use the app. This process can be skipped if those permissions have been granted by your Microsoft Teams administrator.

An FT.com account is required to use this app. FT.com subscribers should log in with their existing account details. Non-subscribers can create a free FT.com account and read up to 3 full FT articles each month by registering at https://ft.com/register.

We only store data necessary to provide the service. All data is stored securely, following the standards described in the Financial Times Privacy Policy.

We delete all personal data stored in the context of the FT app for Microsoft Teams, including the settings and reading list when a user unlinks their FT account in the app.

We will retain your data as long as you maintain an active account with the FT app on Microsoft Teams. We consider your account to be inactive if we don’t detect any interaction after a period of seven years. In this case we will delete all information that we have stored in the context of the app.

Yes - Microsoft Teams system admins have the ability to install and roll out the FT app organisation-wide for all their Teams users. To do this, system admins should follow the steps outlined in the first section of our user guide, but get in touch with our customer success team if you have any questions or issues.
